Lauren

Hi, I'm Lauren!

Let me tell you a bit more about me and my brand, Be Reyt Social.

Be Reyt Social started as a passion project during my Masters, sparked by a love of storytelling, all things visual and a dream to do things my own way up North (hence the super Northern business name). I set out to build something that helped businesses and creators enjoy making content, thrive on socials and carve out their own unique space online in a strategic way.

Our Mission

At Be Reyt Social, our mission is to make organic social media fun, easy, and authentic for businesses and creators. Whether it’s managing your socials or creating eye-catching content, we’re all about forming real connections, sparking conversations, and turning likes into loyal customers. By focusing on strategy, creativity, and staying true to your brand’s personality, together we can boost your presence, grow your community, and let you shine online.

My Creative Journey

2015

Began my 'proper creative journey at The University of Leeds, where I studied Fashion Marketing. I'd always loved taking photos, videos as well as fashion, so this choice of education was right up my street.

2017

Started my first role as a Social Media and Marketing Intern for a global vintage wholesalers as a part of my degree. From here, I learnt the ropes of social media and content creating for businesses and the fire was well and truly lit. After the internship, I was lucky enough to be kept on within the company as a vintage sorter for another 2 years.

2019

Completed a short social media and content internship for a fashion community group focused on sustainability whilst waiting to graduate and did just that with a 2:1.

2020

After the lockdown, I began freelancing as an assistant stylist for other creatives with jobs including work for companies like House of Fraser, Reebok, Brother Models and even up and coming musicians. This opened my eyes to a new way of content creation and I loved it.

2021

Worked for a hair-related social media company, helping them to advertise their products and their brand through creating fun, educational graphics. One of them was reposted by Laura Whitmore, which is definitely a career highlight! After this, I started a freelance personal styling job for a subscription service. This helped me utilise different skills and made me understand how to connect with customers on a personal level through a screen even more. As well as this, I also began my MA in Fashion (Visual Communications). A real busy year, ey?

2022 - Now

In 2022, while finishing up my Masters degree, I freelanced for Nutmeg as a E-commerce Stylist in their studio, for my first restaurant as their Lead Marketer and Social Media Manager (which was a brand-new start-up that I was to help build up!) and started helping my local theatre group out with their online platforms too. I loved these experiences, as it was here that I realised how amazing it felt to help small organisations and watch them celebrate their big wins from the sidelines. Taking the stress out of all things online so small businesses and creators can focus on the 10000 other tasks they have to do became what I wanted my career to become. Oh, and I graduated with a Distinction (over 80%!) in my Masters! She was on a roll. As we know, I start my Be Reyt journey here and carried on building my brand while completing other freelance work.

This brings us up to date on my 10 year journey as a creator! If you made it this far, well done on completing War and Peace! Want to know more?
